Arctic Monkey’s New Album to Be “Psychadelic,” May have some R’n'B
July 17, 2008
NME has it that Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford will be helping the Monkey’s on their third album. Sounds revealed:
“It’s too early to say what sort of direction they’ll go in next,” he told the Daily Star. “But they’ve got at least one tune up their sleeves that sounds massive already.
“It’s much more psychedelic than the first album (2006’s ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’). I wouldn’t rule out a bit of R’n'B either – the boys know their stuff.”
Hold on, folks. This could get very exciting. AM’s frontman Alex Turner has turn(er)ed to ’60s music lately, with his side project The Last Shadow Puppets. I’m thinking if he keeps digging deeper into the decade and returns to play with his bandmates, we could have a very fine record on our hands. Stay tuned.
