The Strokes and Santogold Unite

Oh, and did I forget to mention Pharrell’s name in the headline? ![]()
NME has it:
Santogold has teamed up with The Strokes‘ Julian Casablancas for a song about Converse trainers.
Pharrell Williams also features on the track, reports the Guardian.
Speaking about the song Santogold said: “Everybody on it does their own separate thing and we didn’t do it together so it ends up being just this weird long song with sort of everybody with lots of their own personalities separate.”

Are ya havin’ a laugh?
Because after watching this clip, I am! Priceless.
As a general rule: As soon as Chris Matthews (correctly) states that you have no idea what you’re talking about, you should end your career in TV punditry.
Transcript:
Matthews: “What did he [Neville Chamberlain] do?”
James: “‘38, ‘39, Chris!”

New Mason Jennings MP3 (Kinda…)

Here is the first 30 seconds or so from the tune mentioned in the previous post (nice find, GC). The song is called “I Love You and Buddha Too,” from prolific Minneapolis singer-songwriter Mason Jennings. The quality is not very good, but you can (and mos def should) stream on his MySpace site.
Jennings is one of the many people who have helped to put MN on the map, musically-speaking. He deserves your musical respect and your money. Buy the upcoming In the Ever NOW! PREORDER IT! THAT MEANS NOW!
MP3: I Love You and Buddha Too (only the first 30 seconds, and not very good sound quality)
MP3: Sorry Signs on Cash Machines (full 259 seconds, and great sound quality)
