McCartney asks Jagger for advice
A little gossipy and really irrelevant, I know, but given that we posted on Sir Paul yesterday, I thought it was a funny little article from Music-News.com:
Sir Paul McCartney has asked former chart rival Sir Mick Jagger for advice.‘
The Beatles legend – who is set to embark on a world tour later this year – has reportedly approached the Rolling Stones frontman for tips on surviving life on the road, now he is in his sixties.
A source revealed: “Paul is really good friends with Mick. Despite rumours of rivalry, they’ve been mates since they started out in the sixties.”

Sharon Jones and the DKs get Festival-Happy!

One of the biggest surprises of last year, and certainly the most fun one, Sharon Jones and the (Winehouse-backing) Dap-Kings will be slinging their hook around the country this year, hitting festivals North, South, East and West. Sharing the bill on some days with the likes of Dave Matthews Band, The Roots, Gnarls Barkley, and Feist, they will be hitting festivals big and small beginning this month and not stopping until the end of September.
Dates, from BrooklynVegan, and mp3 after the jump…

New Music: “Broken Social Scene presents…”
Last year it was “Broken Social Scene presents [BSS founder] Kevin Drew’s Spirit If…” and amidst their stops at music festivals this summer, the experimental group will be releasing “Broken Social Scene’s Brandon Canning’s Something for All of Us.”
Hardly an apt title for a group known for such a unique sound, but check out this tune, which just hit the deck, c/o Pitchfork:

And a little something from our friends…buy Broken Social Scene/MP3: Cause=Time
