Sunday Songs I
March 2, 2008

I do not need to explain that distinct feeling one gets on a Sunday, particularly a Sunday afternoon. The inevitability of the future that you do not want to come, the impending doom surrounding the finish to a great weekend with few responsibilities. Perhaps Alan Bennett explained it best:
“The majority of people perform well in a crisis and when the spotlight is on them; it’s on the Sunday afternoons of this life, when the nobody is looking, that the spirit falters.”
And so comes Sunday Songs, two tunes that capture very well that sinking one goes through as Monday approaches.
SS1: Bob Dylan’s Tomorrow Is a Long Time
SS2: Tom Rush’s No Regrets
